Sex Offender Support Group – Breaking the Chains of Shame and Exile
A safe space for ex-offenders and their families begins in May 2018. This group is not a Therapy Group. This group specifically provides a safe and private forum, as well as support for those who are experiencing life struggles as a result of being placed on the sex offender registry.
It is difficult to find adequate public support because the public has been educated to despise and reject people on the registry out of hand. Yet most of these former offenders have already completed there punishment and restitution, and are trying to reboot their lives and be contributing members of society wants more. Despite their best efforts, registrants are often unable to find employment, housing, even friends. When this happens, depression, anxiety, and desperation soon follows. With a commitment to preventing future antisocial behaviors, those on the registry need dedicated community support.
This group is a safe place, non-judgmental, and confidential. The location is provided only to members of the group. Safety and privacy is our concern. If you would like to become part of this support group, you will need to meet confidentially with the facilitator who will discuss the group in detail with you or your family member. Once you are fully informed and understand the confidentiality agreement, you will be invited to participate in the group.
Understand that this group is not designed to facilitate or excuse unlawful sexual behavior. Nor do we support or excuse past behaviors. Our goal is to provide healthy support so you can move forward in your life or help a loved one move forward in his or her life in a healthy in socially appropriate manner.
Cost to participate in this group is Kept as low as possible with a registration screening fee of $55 which covers your initial consultation and assessment which is required prior to beginning group, and then a weekly participation fee of $10 per session. This group is limited to 10 participants per session, and it’s closed to the public. Your confidentiality and privacy our chief concern so that you can have a safe place to speak openly.
